We break news fast, and fast reporting means we sometimes get something wrong. When we do, we fix it in public.
Our corrections policy
Preliminary information from scanner traffic and early scenes is labelled as preliminary. When facts change, we update the story and note what changed and when. Substantive errors of fact get a clearly marked correction at the top of the story and an entry in the log below.
